Smizzle and I have decided that the summer of 2008 is going to be the BEST SUMMER EVER (echo echo echo)! It hasn't happened yet obviously but the anticipation is enough already. I hope it is or else I might hafta get angry at nobody probably lol. My plans include trips to the amusement park(no coasters they scare me), the beach (many times), the huge ass malls in the burbs (jus 2 look cuz I dont have Saks money), DC(gotta love the nations capital), Cheesecake Factory (on an off day so theres no line...yall kno it gets ridicuolous), bike rides (as is a ...), buying more converse (they are SWEEEEEEEEET!!!), random trips to the hair store to get some new doorknockers, car washes (lol), sittin on the front porch, hoopin til dark with grown men (they step ur game up forreal), watching the Olympics (Track and Field BABY!), praying my A?C in the good ol Ford still works, relaxers sweating out, buying winter coats for the low low, family potlucks(good times), and probably a lttle work(step the resume game up)
Wising you and yours a happy summer,
Ned :)

HBCU Pros and Cons
Because I am an Optimist I will Begin with the Positives o Attending an Historically Black College or University!
Pros:
1. Your Black - Everyone here is like you for the most part, its great to see how black people live from all parts of America and the world. I grew up in the "hood" in VA but Smizzle grew up in the "burbs" in TX and we get along somehow :)
2. Opportunity- Most times your people are gonna look out 4 you. You need an internship well my momma owns a ... you kno and you got the hook up like that. Everybody knows somebody and especially in Atlanta they know people that can REALLY get you there.
3. I LOVE white people but...- I've gone to school and lived with white people my whole life. College is that time to get new perspective on things. I'm not tryna say stop getting relaxers and wear dashikis but embrace your heritage and it's time to learn about what OUR people really did and how without us there would be NO America
Cons :( :
1.Your Black - Your diploma will say Blank and Blank State University or Blankety A&M and every employer will know you went to an HBCU. It may lose you a lot of jobs which shouldn't happen in a perfect world but who knows it may even get you a few. And people will ask you where it is and my favorite "is that a 4 yr degree program?" Hell Yes...What do I look like getting an associates degree!?!?!
2. Unreliable - Some say its a stereotype that black people are unreliable and Im finding that it is true. The administrations generally SUCK and the main interest is usually MONEY $$$. There are lots of people that do care for you, you just hafta find them. They are probably not your sucky advisor who you can never find or the lady at the desk in student accounts!
3. Activities - Basically its TOO much going on. People get caught up in playing 3.5 sports, tryna pledge and still be an RA. Now you know! The clubs flyers kill me!!! I dont wanna get any flyer with a girl showing her ass holding a stack of money and you try to tell me "ladies free b4 11pm" you can keep that. I did enjoy homecoming though until it was like 2am and people i mean people who don't even go to my damn school were posted outside of my dorm.
I love my school and I think I am going to get a great education here but I we as a people could just get over the need to run on 15-20 min late CP time (yall kno), and ride around in chevys around the block 25 times, instead we should go watch Discovery Health and learn a lil something so next time we venture off campus and run into some white folk we can have some shit to say!
With 34 days of HBCU love,
Ned :)

Summertime
Yo Whats Good Ned is BAAAACK
NO really this is some serious stuff...Its Atlanta and its April and people have obviously lost their minds. You can always tell the signs of the new warmth: extra desks in your classes, less crowding on the stairs in CMWare between classes, people with bags from Rainbow obviously stocking up on booty shorts and too little shirts, and the excessive flirting between boys and any kinda hot mess looking girls in front of the library.
I knew it would come to this but I'm not ready , even Smizz sold me out for some shorts and flip flops. Personally I'm saving my cute clothes for a worthy day not the 2Nd day of April!?!?! I am proud to say I will be one of 5 people at the entire University on the Dean's List this semester basically because no one else shows up to class. I don't even get those sign me in texts anymore. Last semester club nights started on Thursday's but parties are now everyday of the week and even during school hours it seems. I pray desperately that I don't fall into this trap and pull out my booty shorts.

I'm glad April has come so they could turn off the heater and resume with the AC.(We in the south why they got the heater on anyway??) My cheap walmart fan stood by my side on those late nights when i was laying up in my bed sweating like a pig, but now its time for me to pack it away. Anyway, let me get back to mein kampf( educo, biology, etc) Im just glad the AC is back.YES! and grand theft auto 4 comes out in......28 days! YES!

The Ned and Smizzle Experience....you have been warned.
So, today marks the first day of me and Ned's experiment. One week straight of eating food from the school cafeteria. As with any modern day experiment, there will be webcam video diaries, testimony from our associates/peers, and a fancy power point with charts and graphs.
Objective: Eat nothing but cafeteria food for one week straight( well, maybe until friday)
Hypothesis: We'll get food poisoning/dramatic weight loss/dizziness/headaches/malnutrition....you get where I'm going with this.
Hopefully with this experiment Ned and I will be able to expose HBCU cafe food for what it really is, dog food.
We'll keep you updated!
